The Lake District is a walker's paradise with literally hundreds of walks available from the most leisurely tea shop stroll to treks lasting several days. Even when taking a leisurely stroll make sure you are fully prepared with adequate clothing, footwear and even sun lotion. The weather can be unpredictable when fell walking in the lake district. Each year Mountain Rescue need to perform a number of rescues from the fells and each year, sadly, people die on the fells. Don't be a casualty, don't take risks. A number of organisations can offer guided walks in the Lake District including River Deep Mountain High.
The expert on walking in the Lake District is Wainwright. His books including Fellwalking with Wainwright are available at Amazon.
